As the New Year is upon us, the stage is set for another exciting year for the Short Course Showdown Nation Wide Tour. The venues are set and we are excited to get things rolling for the 3rd year of the Showdown. Last years tour was a great success
giving racers a different style of Short Course racing and giving them the opportunity to learn from so the of best drivers in the country. This years tour will take us from Coast To Coast returning to a few venues but adding a few new stops on the tour. Up first will be Tacoma RC Raceway, Then we will travel to Fitchburg, MA to RC Excitement for Round 2. Round 3 will take us to where the Showdown first started, Trackside Hobbies in Milwaukee, WI. Round 4 will take us to a new venue called Flowood RC in Flowood, MS. Flowood is an amazing place that is owned by the city and managed by Bubba Barham. Bubba is a great guy who has put his heart and soul into making Flowood a great place. We are very excited to be adding Flowood RC to the list of venues for the tour. Round 5 will take us to our next new location. Unser Racing in Denver CO. You may say Unser, could that be related to the world famous Unser racing family, why yes it is. They have a wonderful indoor go kart facility they have build in Denver and recently have added a great indoor RC Track to add to the coolness of this facility. We are very excited to bring the tour to Denver and do all kinds of racing, RC and of course get some Go Karting in. We have some great things planed for this event and the Go Karts will be involved! The last stop of this years tour will be held at the HobbyPlex raceway in Omaha, NE. We added the Plex to the tour last year and we had a great time there, so when we looked at doing this years schedule we thought to have the finals there as they have a huge venue, plenty of room to host our manufacturers row of sponsors and a great core of new racers will make for a great place to wrap of the tour.
2013 TOUR SCHEDULE
The Showdown Tour has many aspects involved in it. We run the SC Tour a bit different than other events. The popularity of SC grew because they were so much different than anything else we race. They resemble full scale trucks so when we first set up the
Showdown, we wanted to race them much like their full scale counterparts. So our events are all run heads up style racing. This makes for more racing and more fun. Our sponsors support the tour extremely well and donate a great amount of racer raffle
prizes to give away at each event. But maybe the most unique part of the tour is the Spectator Raffle. We have our host tracks invite spectators to come and watch the event and they have the opportunity to enter a FREE raffle for a chance to win one of
many RTR trucks. We have seen first hand how much excitement this adds to each event and to see some of the winners come back the next year racing the exact vehicle they won is the absolute best!
Fun is the focus on the Showdown tour and we hope you will be able to join us when the tour makes a stop in your area of the US.
